Services for Elbert Jackson of Roxie are 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug.5, at Zion Baptist Church in Roxie with burial in the churchcemetery.
Visitation is Saturday, Aug. 5, from noon until service time atthe church. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jackson, 85, died July 31, 2000, of heart failure atFranklin County Hospital. He was born in Franklin County on May 30,1915, to Nead Graves and Florence Briggs.
He was retired as a service station attendant at Davis ServiceStation in Roxie. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where heserved as a deacon. He was a member of the American Legion. He wasan Army veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and onesister.
Survivors are his wife, Mamie Williams Jackson of Roxie; hissons, Lonnie Jackson of Gretna, La., Carl Jackson of Roxie, FreddieJackson of Austin, Texas, and John Abbott of Natchez; hisdaughters, Florasteen Jackson, Nellie Jean Jackson, and Betty JeanJackson, all of Roxie; his sisters, Jessie Mae Rogers of Roxie andJulia Griffin of Natchez; and six grandchildren and a host ofnieces and nephews.
