Evelyn Baker Brodie

Services for Evelyn Baker Brodie of Killeen, Texas, were 10a.m., Monday, Aug. 21, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with burialin Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Mrs. Brodie, 78, died Aug. 18, 2000, at Harker Heights NursingHome. She was born in Ennis, Texas. She was a graduate ofBrookhaven High School and attended the University of Maryland.

She retired in 1965 as post librarian at Ft. Hood, Texas. Shewas a member of Grace Christian Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Otis Brodie of Killeen; her sons,Douglas B. Brodie of Salado, Texas, and Tim B. Brodie of HarkerHeights, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Frances Lucille “Doll” Miller

Services for Frances Lucille “Doll” Miller of Monticello are 3p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church withburial in Divide Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, Aug. 21, from 1-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8a.m. until 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Miller, 73, died Aug. 20, 2000, of heart failure at herresidence. She was born in Lawrence County on June 19, 1927, toHorace and Minnie Bullock Lambert.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Divide MethodistProtestant Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William B.Miller; her daughter, Linda Patricia Miller; her brothers, Jess,Earl, Mark, Jule and Dee Lambert; and her sisters, Eva Johns andWinnie Ballard.

Survivors are her sons, Billy Miller, Danny Miller, and KimMiller, all of Monticello; her daughters, Mary Holloway of UnionChurch and Dusty Westbrook of Monticello; her sisters, EuniceRutland of Jayess and Lera Barnett of Hattiesburg; and 20grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and fourgreat-great-grandchildren.

Anderson “Bubba” Smith

Services for Anderson “Bubba” Smith of Brookhaven are 3 p.m.,Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Macedonia M. B. Church with burial inHillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 22, from noon until 7 p.m. withfamily hour from 7-8 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mr. Smith, 72, died Aug. 17, 2000, at his residence. He was bornin Jefferson County on Jan. 17, 1928, to Roger Smith and AliceSmith. He was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools.

He was retired. He was a member of Macedonia M. B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Leotha”Man” Smith; and his sisters, Rosie Jackson and Mary NellJefferson.

Survivors are his wife, Earline “Sue” Smith of Brookhaven; hisson, Andrew “Jack” Smith of Brookhaven; his daughters, May FrancesColeman of Muskegon, Mich., Alice Echols of Flint, Mich., BeverlyStanton of Panama City, Fla., and Sherry Course-Harris ofBrookhaven; his brother, Leroy Smith of Flint, Mich.; his sisters,Eudie Bell Bledsoe of Brookhaven and Gloria Smith of Wilmington,Del.; and 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
