Services for Linda Rose McGee Allgood of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.,Saturday, Sept. 9, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inNew Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, Sept. 8, from 3-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.

Mrs. Allgood, 60, died Sept. 6, 2000, of brain cancer at HavenHall Nursing Home. She was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 5, 1939,to Joe S. McGee and Edna Callender McGee.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death was her father.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, ClydeN. Allgood Jr. of Brookhaven; her sons, Tony Allgood of Dayton,Ohio, and Kirk Allgood of Kettering, Ohio; her sister, Ann Case ofBrookhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces andgreat nephews.

Services for Richard Darrell “Ricky” Thornton Sr. of Houma, La.,and formerly of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 8, atChauvin Funeral Home Chapel in Houma with burial in Hazel Cemeteryin Brookhaven. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of localarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 7, from 4-10 p.m. and Friday from8 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home.

Mr. Thornton, 48, died Sept. 5, 2000.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Hazel Byrd Favre; andhis sister, Jan Bergeron.

Survivors are his father, Clifton Thornton of Mississippi; hissons, Richard “Richie” Thornton Jr. and Benjamin Thornton, both ofGeorgetown, La.; his daughters, Amy Thornton of Winnfield, La., andKaty Thornton, Abigail Thornton, and Holly Thornton, all ofGeorgetown, La.; his brother, James Thornton of Houma, La.; hishalf brothers, Mark Thornton, Craig Thornton, and Jamie Thornton,all of Mississippi; and his half sister, Rena Thornton ofMississippi.
