Ollie Mae Gammill East
Services for Ollie Mae Gammill East of Brookhaven were 11 a.m.,Monday, Sept. 18, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMidway Cemetery in Meadville.
Mrs. East, 80, died Sept. 16, 2000, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. She was born in Louisiana on Feb. 7, 1920, to James AllenGammill and Regina Guidroz Gammill.
She was a retired secretary for International Paper Co. She wasa member of First Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her husband, William “Billy” East of Brookhaven;her sons, Gordon A. Gammill of Albuquerque, N.M., and James D.Gammill of Natchez; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Oscar Lewis
Services for Oscar Lewis of Brookhaven are 3 p.m., Monday, Sept.18, at Fair River Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lewis, 65, died Sept. 16, 2000, at Lawrence County Hospitalof injuries sustained in a motorcycle and truck accident. He wasborn in Lawrence County on Dec. 12, 1934, to Robert H. Lewis andDezzie Foster Lewis.
He was the owner of Big O Mobile Home Services. He was a memberof Fair River Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, RobertLewis.
Survivors are his wife, Helen Williams Lewis of Brookhaven; hissons, Bernell Lewis of Houston, Texas, Mike Alvin Lewis ofAmarillo, Texas, Victor Lewis of Sugar Lane, Texas, and Kerry JoeLewis of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Laurie Lynne Griswold ofCleveland, Texas; his sisters, Juanita Thornhill, Eudell Howington,and Laverne Freeman, all of Brookhaven; and 13 grandchildren andone great-grandchild.
Terrence Ryan Pappas
Services for Terrence Ryan Pappas of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation is Monday, Sept. 18, from 6-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.
Mr. Pappas, 14, died Sept. 16, 2000, of injuries sustained in anautomobile accident on Highway 583. He was born in Montgomery,Ala., on June 7, 1986, to Terry Ryan Pappas and Hollie ThompsonPappas.
He was a ninth grade student at Brookhaven High School and hadformerly attended North Pike School from kindergarten througheighth grade. He attended Centenary United Methodist Church ofMcComb and Felders United Methodist Church in Pike County.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother,Christopher Mitchell “Mitch” Pappas of Brookhaven; hisgrandparents, Chris and Barbara Pappas of Montgomery, Ala., and Ronand Flo Thompson of Fairhope, Ala., and Jayess; hisgreat-grandmother, Louree Young Thompson of Jayess; his aunts anduncles, Chris and Sherry Pappas of Birmingham, Ala., Mike andTamatha McElmurry of Fairhope, and Debbie Pappas of San Francisco;and his first cousins, Jeremy Pappas of Birmingham and TaylorMcElmurry of Fairhope.
