He was self-employed. He was a member of Pine Grove U.P.C.

Survivors are his wife, Nell Bracey Hamilton; mother, MaggieNorton Hamilton; sons, Dewayne Hamilton; daughter, Dewana JoMcCain, all of Foxworth; brothers, J.J. Hamilton Jr. of Brookhavenand Jerry Hamilton of Bude; sister, Janet Smith of Natchez; fivegrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Smith, 88, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, of heart failure ather residence. She was born in Lincoln County on March 11, 1912, tothe late Walter W. and Ida Watts Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleansant Grove BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Sam P. Smith;brothers, Frank C. Smith and Vernon H. Smith; and a sister, LessieDickey.

Survivors are her son, Frank Cary Smith; sister, Addie Smith;grandsons, John Cary Smith and Carl Anthony Smith;granddaughter-in-law, Malisia Smith; and a great-grandson, all ofBrookhaven.
