Qualls mentioned Social Security, Medicare, Managed Care andLong-term Care. In the closely-watched and increasingly-heatedcontest, those topics have also been included in the candidates’campaign ads.

“Those are some of the hottest issues in the election thisyear,” Qualls said.

According to the forum format, each candidate will be allowedtime for an opening statement. Then, a three-person panel willquestion the candidates on AARP issues, followed by questions fromthe floor. The forum will conclude with closing statements from thecandidates, Qualls said.
