DEXTER – The Dexter Bulldogs clinched the Division 7-1A titleFriday night with a 41-6 win over the Enterprise YellowJackets.

Dexter improved to 7-3 on the season and 3-0 in divisionplay.

Enterprise, coached by Ricky Deere, falls to 6-3 overall and 2-2in division play.

Dexter’s Derrick McGowan scored a three-yard touchdown andkicked the PAT for an early 7-0 lead over Enterprise at the 8:53mark in the first quarter. McGowan kicked 4-of-4 extra points.

With 46 seconds remaining in first-quarter play, Enterprisequarterback Justin Kyzar connected to Phillip May for a 35-yard TD.They try for two points failed as Dexter led Enterprise 7-6 as thequarter ended.

In the second quarter, the Bulldogs exploded for threetouchdowns to go ahead of the Jackets 28-6 at halftime. Omar Mageescored a four-yard touchdown, Robin Gamble caught a seven-yard passfrom Fred Haynes and Torey Crumedy caught a 22-yard pass fromHaynes for the third TD.

Following a scoreless fourth quarter, Wade Haynes scored a14-yard touchdown and Magee returned a fumble 50 yards for paydirt.The PAT attempts failed.

Powering the Dexter running game was McGowan with 11 carries for78 yards.

Junior tailback Shermaine Vaughn sparked Enterprise’s groundattack with nine rushes for 74 yards. Brent Boyd carried eighttimes for 24 yards.

Haynes completed 3 of 3 passes for 22 yards. McGowan went3-for-5 for 47 yards. Haynes also caught three passes for 30 yards.Crumedy had one catch for 22 yards. Kody Burns had three catchesfor 30 yards. Making two catches for 30 yards was Vaughn.

Kyzar directed the Jackets’ air attack, completing 11 of 21passes for 140 yards and one interception.

Defensively, Vaughn led Enterprise with eight tackles.Zack Smith finished with seven stops and Boyd followed with fivetackles.

Greg Green collected eight tackles from Dexter. GavinPittman had seven tackles.
