Julius Prentiss Bales
Services for Julius Prentiss Bales of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m.,Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 5-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.
Mr. Bales, 78, died Nov. 13, 2000, of heart failure andpneumonia at the V. A. Hospital in Jackson. He was born in CopiahCounty on June 30, 1922, to James Prentiss Bales and Mary JaneStockton Bales.
He was a self-employed logger. He was a member of Pleasant HillBaptist Church. He was an Army veteran of WWII.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, LeonaVirginia Phipp Bales; his sons, David Allen Bales and ZacheryBales; his grandchild, Teddy Dale Martin Jr.; and hisgreat-grandchild, Allen Chandler Martin.
Survivors are his wife, Marlene P. Bales of Bogue Chitto; hissons, James Prentiss “Tommy” Bales and Freddie “Boots” Bales, bothof Bogue Chitto; his daughters, Dorothy Wallace and Paulette”Polly” Martin, both of Bogue Chitto, and Mary “Tutti” Mahaffey,Katherine Furr, and Jeanette “Jenny” Whiddon, all of Brookhaven;his brother, J. B. Bales of Bogue Chitto; his sisters, RubyWilliams of Bogue Chitto and Leslie Waldon of Brookhaven; and 18grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Debbie Storey Dendy
Services for Debbie Storey Dendy of Meadville are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Churchwith burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday from8:30-10:30 a.m. at Franklin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dendy, 39, died Nov. 13, 2000, of injuries sustained in anautomobile accident on Highway 84. She was born in Meadville onApril 26, 1961, to Paul Storey and Louise Storey.
She was a cook at TJ’s Restaurant. She was a member of MiddletonCreek Primitive Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her father; and her sister, NancyStorey.
Survivors are her husband, Bruce Dendy of Meadville; her sons,Mickey Stevens and Patrick Stevens, both of Meadville; her mother,Louise Storey of Bude; her grandmother, Elenor Waller of Meadville;her brothers, Robert Storey of Bude and Michael Storey ofMeadville; and her sisters, Debra King of Meadville and MandyPartridge of Vicksburg.
Alice Minor Russell
Services for Alice Minor Russell of Monticello are 2 p.m.,Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inBethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Russell, 78, died Nov. 12, 2000, of heart failure at herresidence. She was born in Fordyce, Ark., on Feb. 22, 1922, toJames Thomas and Mildred Caroll Batulan Minor.
She was a retired inspector with Kellwood Company. She was amember of Bethel Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, GervaseRussell; her brother, James A. Minor; and her sister, VirginiaMinor.
Survivors are her stepson, Herbert Eugene Russell of Arkansas;and four grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, niecesand nephews.
