Services for Robert A. Abraham, O.D., of Oak Lawn, Ill., andformerly of Brookhaven, were 9 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, atBlake-Lamb Funeral Home with burial in Abraham Lincoln NationalCemetery.

Dr. Abraham, 75, once taught at Brookhaven High School. He was aMarine veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine George Abraham.

Joyce Blackmon Biggs

Services for Joyce Blackmon Biggs of Hazlehurst are 11 a.m.,Thursday, Jan. 18, at Hazlehurst United Methodist Church withburial in Hazlehurst Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Stringer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Biggs, 70, died Jan. 15, 2001, at her residence. She was anative of Copiah County.

She was retired from Marxman Industries Inc., San FranciscoRiding Gear, Inc., businesses operated by her and her husband,where she served as secretary and treasurer. She was a member ofthe Hazlehurst Garden Club and of the Cherokee Rose Chapter of DAR.She was a member of Hazlehurst United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H.Blackmon; and her sister, Lucy Blackmon Nunnery.

Survivors are her husband, George Marx Biggs Sr. of Hazlehurst;her son, George Marx Biggs Jr. of Jackson; her daughter, Pam Ashleyof Hazlehurst; her brothers, W. H. Blackmon of Slidell, La., and B.H. Blackmon of Lindale, Texas; her sister, Mrs. C. E. Norton ofWesson; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the HazlehurstUnited Methodist Church, P.O. Box 725, Hazlehurst MS 39083.

Mary Nettie Randall Dawson

Services for Mary Nettie Randall Dawson of Brookhaven are 1p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Roseland Cemetery in Amite County.

Visitation is today from 5-10 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Dawson, 88, died Jan. 16, 2001, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Amite County on Nov. 8, 1912, to Frank OliverRandall and Vander Elizabeth Harrell Randall.

She was a sales clerk for Sterlings Department Store and WoolcoDepartment Store. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church inNatchez.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her daughter,Eleanor Dawson.

Survivors are her sons, Maurice Dawson of Brookhaven, LarryDawson, Stanley Dawson, and Bobby Wayne Dawson, all of Vidalia,La., Gaylon Dawson of Murphysboro, Tenn., and Raymond Dawson ofGillette, Wyo.; her daughters, Alpha Sharpe, Edith Wills, andPatricia Dawson, all of Brookhaven, and Agnes Faye Wilson ofWillis, Texas; and 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, andfive great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Lawrence Owen Jr.

Services for Robert Lawrence Owen Jr. of Kentwood, La., are 2p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at McKneely Funeral Home with burial inWoodland Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. untilservice time at the funeral home.

Mr. Owen, 68, died Jan. 15, 2001, at his residence. He was anative of Kentwood.

He was a wireline operator. He was an Air Force veteran of theKorean Conflict.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert L. and EmilyOwen; his sister, Mary Prescott; his stepdaughter, ScarletMcClendon; and his stepson, Jonathan McClendon.

Survivors are his son, Ronnie Wayne Owen of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Connie Brown of Brookhaven; his stepson, Marshall KennethMcClendon of Lexington, Ky.; his stepdaughters, Joyce Cuevas ofBrookhaven and Elaine Britt of Summit; his brothers, John Owen ofJackson and Frank Owen of Kentwood; and five grandchildren, onegreat-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
