MEMPHIS – The Co-Lin Wolves split a doubleheader with SouthwestState Community College Monday dropping the opener 9-8, andcapturing the nightcap 9-3. Co-Lin swept the Salukis two weeks agoin the season opening twinbill at Wesson.

The Wolves trailed 7-2 after two innings, but came back withthree runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. The Salukis scoredthe winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Arlandus Brown, Britt Hederman, Ryan Davis and David Gray eachhad two hits for Co-Lin (2-5).

Derek Atkins started for Co-Lin and was relieved by ChrisKennedy and Doug Atkins who went 1.2 innings and took the loss forthe Wolves. He gave up 1 run, 2 hits, walked 3 and recorded nostrikeouts.

Co-Lin 9, Southwest St. 3

The Wolves rebounded to defeat the Salukis 9-3 in the secondgame. Shortstop Kyle Beall had 3 hits including a double to pacethe Wolves. Brown added 2 singles and Ricky Caraway contributed adouble.

Chris Robinson started for the Wolves, followed by ChuckieStracener, Jay Foster and Jacob Hartwig. Stracener threw 3 shutoutinnings allowing only 2 hits to gain his first victory of theseason.

Co-Lin (3-5) returns to action Wednesday at home against BishopState at 4 p.m.
