Bears fall to Bobcats

BOGUE CHITTO – Catcher Nathan Cutrer belted a grandslam home runwith two out to give the Bogue Chitto Bobcats an 8-7 Division 7-1Awin over the West Lincoln Bears Thursday.
In the bottom of the seventh, West Lincoln led Bogue Chitto 7-3.Bogue Chitto scored its fourth run off a West Lincoln error to cutthe deficit to three runs before Cutrer’s game-winning,grandslam.
Barrett Wallace (3-1) went the distance for the with ninestrikeouts and three walks. Jeremy Branning absorbed the loss inrelief of starter Corey Easley. Easley fanned eight batters andwalked four in six and one-third innings. Branning took over in theseventh with one out.
West Lincoln outhit Bogue Chitto 7-4.
Following Cutrer in hitting for the Bobcats was Lindsey Jacksonwith a double. Cutrer and Brian Wallace collected a singleapiece.
The Bears got a two-run homer and pair of singles from CodyWallace. Easley ripped a three-run homer in the fifth. Branning,Jamie Sisco and Daniel Leggett collected two singles apiece.Hitting safely was Mitchell.
“I was real proud of the kids,” said West Lincoln coach AndrewRedd.
In the junior varsity game, Bogue Chitto bested WestLincoln 8-4. Daniel Moore (3-1) was the winner and Daniel Allenabsorbed the loss.
Luke Hall powered the Bobcats with a three-run homer anda single. Denard Ferguson doubled and singled twice. Moore, DanielMoak and Joseph Hart hit two singles apiece. Todd Davis hitsafely.
West Lincoln got a double and single from Landon Case.Tripling was Daniel Leggett. Drew Smith and Blake Howse hit adouble apiece. Dale Wheat, Matt Dillon and Weston Youngsingled.
Bogue Chitto will host North Pike Saturday afternoon at1 p.m. and 3.
West Lincoln (3-2, 1-1) is scheduled to host the LincolnCounty Tournament with Loyd Star and Enterprise participating. LoydStar meets West Lincoln at 11 a.m. in the first game.
