The Franklin County Lady Bulldogs clobbered the Loyd Star LadyHornets 17-0 Thursday afternoon in fastpitch softball action at theSports Complex. This is Loyd Star’s first year to field a fastpitchteam.

Mandy McGehee (5-3) was the winning pitcher and Jordan Britt(0-1) took the loss. McGehee fanned 12 batters and walked two.

Powering Franklin County with a double and two singles wasChristy Day. Emma Harris tripled. McGehee went 3-for-4 at theplate.

Beth Smith and Dana Coke singled for 0-2 Loyd Star.

In the junior varsity game, Loyd Star pounded Franklin County12-4. Coke starter and Britt finished on the mound for the win.Coke led the JV Lady Hornets with a triple.

Franklin County plays Saturday in the Vidalia Tournament. LoydStar hosts Bogue Chitto Tuesday, March 27, at the SportsComplex.
