Bossier Cavaliers crush Co-Lin Wolves

WESSON – The Bossier Parish (La.) Community College Cavaliersfired their Cajun cannons Monday night and swept Co-Lin’s Wolves ina baseball doubleheader.
WESSON – The Bossier Parish (La.) Community College Cavaliersfired their Cajun cannons Monday night and swept Co-Lin’s Wolves ina baseball doubleheader. The Cavaliers collected a total of 20 hitsin beating Co-Lin 4-0 and 12-2 on chilly Sullivan Field.
Co-Lin (15-10) hosts Gulf Coast Wednesday for a South Divisiontwinbill, starting at 4 p.m. Co-Lin plays at Hinds Saturdayafternoon.
“They threw two pretty good arms at us and I expected that,”said Co-Lin head coach Keith Case. “We didn’t have the intensity weneeded in the second game. We have to learn and compete at a higherlevel.”
Bossier 4, Co-Lin 0
Co-Lin was limited to six hits in the opener. Two hitsby shortstop Kyle Beall led the Wolves. Centerfielder ArlandusBrown tripled and catcher David Gray doubled. Collecting singlesfor Co-Lin were Brett Duncan and Seth Lofton.
Chris Kennedy took the loss for Co-Lin. The sophomorerighthander gave up 6 hits and 2 runs, walking 2 and hitting 1batter.
Righthander Jarrod Salazar pitched the victory. Hestruck out 7 batters and walked none.
The Cavaliers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the firstinning.
Bossier 12, Co-Lin 2
The game was called in the sixth inning as the 10-runrule was evoked. The Cavaliers (26-5) collected 12 hits in thenightcap.
Christopher Robinson (0-2) was the losing pitcher. Helasted two-thirds of an inning and was replaced by JacobHartwig.
