Kavitz, Gatlin, Altman win in District 4-AA track meet

CENTREVILLE – Lindsay Altman, Anna K. Gatlin and Marisa Kavitztook first place in the District 4-AA track and field events heldat Centreville Academy.

Altman won first in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 91/2 inches. Gatlin captured the high jump with a leap of 4 feet,2.8 inches. Kavitz won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13:77.

Gatlin took second place in 100 meter dash with a time of 13:78.Kavitz also won second in the 200 meter dash with a time of28:32.

In the 400-meter relay, the foursome of Amy Smith, Altman,Gatlin and Kavitz took second with a time of 54:28. In the 800meter relay, Emily Langley, Kavitz, Smith and Altman also finishedsecond with a time of 1:54:99.

In the boys track action, Jeffrey Waycaster captured secondplace twice for the Cougars. Waycaster finished the triple jumpwith a distance of 38 feet, 11 inches and the long jump with a19-7.
