Services for Winfred “W. O.” Otis Henderson of Foley, Ala., are2 p.m., Thursday, April 26, at Bayview Funeral Home in Foley withburial Friday at 11 a.m. in Oak Wood Cemetery in Georgiana,Ala.
Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Henderson, 87, died April 21, 2001.
He was a licensed embalmer and funeral director and ownedfuneral homes in Evergreen, Ala., and Brewton, Ala. He wasvice-president of the 1st National Funeral Home in Louisiana. Hewas a member of the AFDA and NFDA for over 50 years. He was amember of Foley Baptist Church and part of the Bayview Funeral Homefamily for 27 years. He was a past president of the EvergreenRotary Club, a member and past president of the Gulf Shores LionsClub, member of the Woodmen of the World for over 40 years, amember of the Elberta Optimist Club, a member of the Foley MasonicLodge No. 766, the Eastern Star No. 1420ES, the Abba Temple ofMobile, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Mobile, and theBaldwin Co. Shrine Club where he served as a board member.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Voncile.
Survivors are his daughter, Melinda Von Henderson of Foley; hissister, Louise Freeman of Georgiana, Ala.; his brother, MorrisHenderson of Brookhaven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
