Services for Gussie Mae Sims are 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19, atMt. Shady Grove M. B. Church in Wesson.

Visitation is Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at thechurch. Peoples Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Sims, 91, died May 12, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Copiah County on May 4, 1910.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Shady Grove M. B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, GeorgeSims; her siblings; and four children.

Survivors are her children, Clara Scott of Kansas City, Kan.,Pauline Smith of Los Angeles, Erma Culver of Little Rock, Calif.,John Sims of Lithonia, Ga., Luther Sims of Midwest City, Okla., andClarence Sims of Dallas, Texas; 63 grandchildren, three of whom sheraised, Vernita Freeman of Amite, La., Robbie Ramsey of JeffersonCity, Mo., and Carol Wheeler of Lake Forest, Calif; 88great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host ofother relatives.
