Co-Lin outfielder named Academic All-American

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College outfielder SarahReynolds of Florence has been selected a Distinguished AcademicAll-American by the National Junior College AthleticAssociation.

“We are extremely proud of Sarah and her accomplishments on andoff the field,” said Co-Lin President Dr. Howell Garner.

Students with an accumulative grade point average of 3.8 orbetter on a 4.0 scale for 45 semester hours, completed three (3)semesters of college work, and lettered in one or more sportsrecognized by the NJCAA were eligible for nomination.

While at Co-Lin, Reynolds was selected to Who’s Who AmongStudents in American Junior Colleges, and a member of Phi ThetaKappa, Alpha Omega Science Club, Sigma Kappa Delta (Englishhonorary), Baptist Student Union and a Diamond Doll. Also a memberof the Lady Wolves soccer team. Reynolds was elected sophomorehomecoming maid. She has been a president lists’ student graduationwith a 4.00 grade point average.

As a member of the first Co-Lin fastpitch softball team, shehelped lead the team to a 26-7 record, a second place finish at theNJCAA Region 23 Tournament and the MACJC State FastpitchTournament. Reynolds batted .318 for the Lady Wolves with 12 stolenbases.

In her freshman year, she was a member of the Lady Wolves slowpitch team that finished in second place in the NJCAA NationalTournament, second place in the MACJC State Tournament and a secondplace in the South Division.
