Graveside services for Howard John Smith of Natchez are 2 p.m.,Thursday, May 24, at New Hebron Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at WilsonFuneral Home.

Mr. Smith, 87, died May 20, 2001, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. He was born in New Hebron on June 8, 1913, to John Albertand Laura Holmes Smith.

He was a retired bus driver with Jackson Transit Bus Company. Hewas a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his sons, John T. Smith of Natchez, Jerry H. Smithof Albuquerque, N.M., and Jimmy W. Smith of Brandon; his daughter,Joan Chaney of Jackson; and seven grandchildren, 10great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
