“Our team played really well until the last day,” said Co-Lingolf coach Chuck Holloway. “I think they ran out gas and got alittle tired.”

Holloway said the team walked 18 holes for six consecutive days.”They practiced Sunday and Monday. They weren’t used to walkingthat much.”

Co-Lin only carried four players to the national tournament. Itwas a disadvantage because the highest of five individual scorescould have been dropped after each round.

“A fifth player would have allowed us to drop our highest scoreevery day,” said Holloway. “I’m proud of our players and what theyaccomplished.”

Rock Valley was 10 strokes behind entering the final round. Theteam made the turn at 7-under and beat Eastfield by eight strokes, posting a 299 in the final round.
