Services for R. E. “Red” Howard of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Thursday, June 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inWesson Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m.until 10 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Howard, 77, died June 10, 2001, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. He was born in Pearl River County on Feb. 7, 1924, toAlfred Howard and Myhalie Howard.

He was retired from Mississippi Wood Preserving Company and hadworked for S.W. Timber Laboratories. He was a member of the Baptistfaith.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Juanita Reed Howard of Brookhaven; hisson, Robert Howard of Brookhaven; his daughter, Jean Pell ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Bernice McCardle of Poplarville, DorisHoward of Wiggins, Alice Norton of Gulfport, and Erma Wheeler ofFlorence; and four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
