Services for Ruthie Mae Young of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.Saturday, June 30, at Hopewell M.B. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, June 29, from noon to 7 p.m. with a familyhour from 6-7 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young, 66, died Monday, June 25, 2001, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 14, 1934, tothe late Albert Beard and Lula Clark.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hopewell M.B. Church,where she was a member of the Missionary Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, RobertBrown and Pearlie Johnson.

Survivors are her husband, Johnnie B. Young Sr. of Brookhaven;sons Johnny B. Young Jr. of Jacksonville, N.C., David Young of St.Roberts, Mo., Lonnie Young of Germany, Charlie Young of Chesapeake,Va., Paul Young of Germany, Albert Young of Korea, Bernard Young ofFort Irving, Calif., and Jessie Young of Yuma, Ariz.; daughters,Beatrice Carter of Norfolk, Va., Katherine Young of Chesapeake,Va., Juanita Walker of Brookhaven, Elaine Young of Brookhaven,Linoy Martinez of San Antonio, Betty Harris of New Mexico and KatieYoung of Brookhaven; sisters, Clara Mackabee and Inez Mackabee,both of Brookhaven; 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;and a host of nieces and nephews.
