Services for Mildred Mamie Nevels Stewart of Brookhaven are 2p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, June 29, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Stewart, 76, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at King’sDaughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 1,1924, to the late Elmer and Anna Smith Nevels.

She was a retired retail clerk. She was a member of PearlhavenBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Virgil R.Stewart; son, Sydney Stewart; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors are her son, Virgil E. Stewart of Brookhaven;daughters, Carolyn Stewart Simoneaux of Greensboro, N.C., andBrenda Stewart Pittman of Brookhaven; eight grandchildren; and ninegreat-grandchildren.
