Brookhaven Nationals test AL in finals tonight

It’s an all-Brookhaven final tonight in the Dixie Youth BaseballMajor League North Subdistrict Tournament at Keystone Park. TheBrookhaven Nationals meet the Brookhaven American League All-Starsat 6 p.m.
The Nationals, unbeaten in the double-elimination tournament,eliminated Hazlehurst by winning 6-4 Tuesday night. The Nationals(3-0) are undefeated and a win tonight will send them to thedistrict tournament at Summit.
Nationals 6, Hazlehurst 4
In a confusing, 5-team bracket, the Nationals beatHazlehurst for a second straight game after winning 6-2 Mondaynight. The Americans, who lost 3-0 to Hazlehurst on Saturday, haddrawn a bye after beating Crystal Springs 10-2 Monday.
Winning pitcher Drew Case struck out 4 batters andwalked 2 as the Nationals sent Hazlehurst packing. Cole Newellhurled 1 inning of relief and was credited with thesave.
Hazlehurst took a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth butthe Nationals came roaring back. A 5-run fifth lifted the Nationalsto victory.
Directing Brookhaven at the plate was Jeremy James with2 singles and an RBI. Newell doubled. Russell Elliott, TylerCunningham, Robbie Dees and Case singled.
Warren Hood was the losing pitcher. He struck out 4batters and walked 2.
Offensively, Hazlehurst was led by Seth Cliburn’s 2-RBIsingle. Brandt Hood doubled. Bennett Wilson, Phillip Douglas,Jonathan Grace and Warren Hood singled.
