Mr. Byrd, 49, died Aug. 6, 2001, in Roxie. He was born inFranklin County on October 5, 195, to Curley Mae Robinson andSylvester Byrd Jr. He was a construction worker with Ricky L.Blanton Construction Company. He was a member of Roxie FirstBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his brothers, Roger Byrd and Kenneth Byrd, both ofRoxie; his sisters, Phyllis and Erica Byrd, both of Cincinnati,Ohio, and Betty Malone and Joyce Malone, both of Natchez; and ahost of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
