Services for Mazie Ellzey Smith Cochran of Wesson were 11 a.m.,Saturday, Aug. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inNew Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Cochran, 76, died Aug. 16, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on July 28, 1925, to James Owen Ellzey andIda Case Ellzey.

She was retired from Stahl-Urban. She was a dietician at LoydStar School. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, JamesElmer Smith, Leonard Smith and John Allen Cochran Sr.; and hersisters, Hazel Ellzey, Jean Mosley, Myrtle Vaughn, and WinnieCade.

Survivors are her son, James Donald Smith of New Orleans, La.;her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Cochran of Madisonville, Texas; herbrothers-in-law, Revis Phillips of Brookhaven and William Mosley ofBaker, La.; her sister, Jewell Phillips of Brookhaven; hergrandsons, Michael Shane Smith and James Smith; her great-grandson,Zachary Shane Smith; and her special friend, Layla Edwards.
