Services for Betty Pennington McGuffee of Monticello are 2 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 9, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inBethshan Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. until service time atthe funeral home.

Mrs. McGuffee, 60, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at St. DominicHospital in Jackson. She was born on Jan. 5, 1941, to Ernest andNolie David Altzan.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Antioch BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, P.D.Pennington; a grandchild; and a stepgrandchild.

Survivors are her husband, Donnie McGuffee of Monticello; sons,Perry Pennington of Brookhaven and Danny Paul Pennington ofMonticello; stepsons, Greg McGuffee and Ricky McGuffee, both ofMonticello, and Gary McGuffee of Brookhaven; daughter, Sassy Smithof Oakvale; stepdaughter, Kathy King of Monticello; brother, ErnestAltzan of Port Allen, La.; sisters, Joyce Pouricau, Mary AliceLampkin and Lisa Boudreax, all of Louisianna; five grandchildren;eight stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
