Services for Shelby “Fireball” Ratcliff of Wesson are 1 p.m.,Saturday, Sept. 8, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day SaintsRed Star Ward with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home andSaturday at the church from noon until service time.

Mr. Ratcliff, 61, died Sept. 5, 2001, at Baptist Medical Centerin Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 10, 1940, toWilliam Carlos Ratcliff and Mary Lou Lea Ratcliff.

He was a former tool pusher for H and P Drilling Company. He wasa member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Red StarWard.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Fay Griffin Ratcliff of Wesson; his son,Adam Ratcliff of Mobile; his daughters, Tracy Smith of Wesson andPaula Schifano of Brookhaven; his sisters, Margie Gale Falvey, MaryJuanita Coon, and Betty Jean Lofton, all of Wesson, Iva PearlGolman and Linda Faye Weathersby, both of Brookhaven, and Ida LeeBritt of Port Arthur, Texas; his grandchildren, Jason Smith,Tiffany Noble, Derek Smith, Timmy Schifano, and Trey Smith; and hisgreat-grandchildren, Tyler Noble and Blake Smith.
