Our neighbors to the north in Wesson have been given a uniqueopportunity to help shape the future of their town.

Officials of the Mississippi Main Street Association will visitnext month to meet with citizens and to hear their hopes and dreamsfor their town. This is part of an effort being led by the mayorand board of aldermen to revitalize downtown Wesson.

MMSA is a private, non-profit organization that has helped bringnew life to dozens of communities in Mississippi by helping thenbring in new businesses. What they want from Wesson citizens aresuggestions and ideas that might work there.

The meeting will be at 9 a.m., Oct. 9, in the upstairs meetingroom of the Wesson Cafe on Highway 51. Anyone who can’t attend butwho would like to offer a suggestion should contact Mayor BillTigner at 754-1217.

We know some good ideas will come out of the meeting, and we’reanxious to hear them. Congratulations to the citizens of Wesson forhelping move their town forward.
