Services for May T. Ard of Jayess are 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct.4, at Powell’s Grove United Pentecostal Church with burial inProvidence Cemetery.

Visitation today is at the church until service time. CatchingsFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ard, 94, died Oct. 2, 2001, at SMRMC. She was born inLincoln County on July 16, 1907, to Lush Thompson and FlorenceKirkfield Thompson.

She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her stepmother, LethaThompson; her husband, Wayne Ard; her son, W. T. Ard; her brothers,Alvin, Crawford, Earnest and Henry Thompson; and her sisters, LoisSmith, Auty Bee Bozwell, and Gladys Jordan.

Survivors are her son, James L. Ard of Jayess; her daughter,Mary Ellen Greer of Jayess; her brother, Mike Thompson ofBrookhaven; her sister, Howty King of Brookhaven; and sixgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces andnephews.
