Services for Douglas Owen Porter of Natchez are 2 p.m.,Thursday, Oct. 11, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMidway Cemetery.

Visitation is today until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Porter, 76, died Oct. 9, 2001, at Community Hospital inNatchez. He was born in Franklin County on Jan. 3, 1925, to CliftonO. Porter and Ruth Murray Porter.

He was a retired supervisor for Johns Manville with 40 yearsservice. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church inNatchez. He was an Air Force veteran of WWII.

He was secretary and treasurer of Mississippi Square DanceCallers Association. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge #1,Natchez Council #1, and Natchez Commandery #5. He was a member ofWahabi Shrine Temple and past president of Natchez Shrine Club.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his wife, Jeannie Barlow Porter of Natchez; hismother, Ruth Murray Porter of Natchez; his sister, Edith PorterJordan of Cranfield; a niece and a nephew; and a host ofgreat-nieces and great-nephews.
