MEADVILLE – West Lincoln junior guard Dana King pumped in 18points Tuesday night to power the West Lincoln Lady Bears to a67-29 win over the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs.

In the varsity boys game, Anthony Wilcher’s 25 points directedFranklin County to a 62-29 win over West Lincoln.

TheLady Bears (3-0) roared to a 26-7 lead over FranklinCounty. At halftime, the Lady Bears commanded a 44-14advantage.

Contributing to the West Lincoln win with 16 points and9 rebounds was Holli Bass. Lauren Smith followed with 11 points and3 rebounds. Hannah Johnson pulled down 8 rebounds.

“We had a good team effort,” said West Lincoln coachAndy Smithie.

Candra Chaney netted 9 points for FranklinCounty.

The 1-2 Bears got behind the Bulldogs 12-7 in the firstquarter and never caught up. At halftime, West Lincoln trailed30-17.

Luke Lofton powered West Lincoln with 8 points and 5steals.

“Franklin County was very athletic and played goodbasketball,” said Smithie. “We are going to have to work hard andimprove.”

Franklin County got 16 points from JeffreyGraves.

Junior High Action

West Lincoln rallied in the final frame for a 10-6 runto pull out a 37-36 win. Erica Shaw led the Lady Bears (1-0) with13 points followed by Brittany Smith with 11 and April Kennedy7.

Robin Shaw had 10 points for FranklinCounty.

In the junior high boys game, the Bears roared back fora 19-11 run in the fourth quarter and a 41-36 victory.

Directing 2-0 West Lincoln with 14 points, includingthree 3-pointers, was Stephen Jones. Firing in 13 points was ShaneLynch.

Wesley Brown scored 12 points for FranklinCounty.

West Lincoln hosts Brookhaven on Monday, Nov.5.
