Bogue Chitto mom wins $200 in Hometown Bucks

A phone call brought some extra holiday cheer to a Bogue Chittowoman earlier this week.
Myra Bui could hardly believe the news when told she wouldreceive $200 in Hometown Bucks as the third week’s winner in theDAILY LEADER’S Hometown Christmas promotion.
“I was totally surprised. I had went to the bank to open up aChristmas Club account and just put my name in the box,” shesaid.
Bui, the mother of four, Michael, Alex, Abby and Kacy, said themoney came at a wonderful time, just before she got started on herChristmas shopping.
“I’ll probably spend it on my kids and my husband, Quang,” shesaid.
She was thankful for the extra help from businesses trying tobring smiles to local shoppers in an effort to promote shopping athome.
“I want to thank all of the participating merchants for a greatpromotion,” Bui said.
The Hometown Bucks can be used at any of the participatingmerchants, which include:
* Bank of Brookhaven
* Brookwood Gifts & Antiques
* Lofton’s Sporting Goods
* Rushing Boots and Shoe Shop
* Shipp’s Flowers
* State Bank
* T.H. Perkins Furniture Company
* Walls Lumber
There will be four more weekly drawings for $200 in HometownBucks, with a grand prize drawing for $600 on Dec. 14.
Each Friday, one name will be drawn from the participatingmerchants’ promotion box, then the winner will be drawn from thosenames, with $2,000 to be given away before Dec. 14.
Shoppers may register for the drawings using the special entryforms and boxes on display at any of the participating businesses.Shoppers may enter as many times as they would like.
Employees of the DAILY LEADER and their families are noteligible to win. Employees of participating merchants may notregister at their respective business, but they may register at anyof the other participating business.
