Services for Dorothy “Dot” Herring of Monticello are 2 p.m.Sunday, Dec. 9, at Carmel Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Mrs. Herring, 77, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, of heart failure atBaptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on July 23, 1924,to the late Clifton and Minnie Holmes Wilson.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Carmel Baptist Church,where she was a member of the Golden Circle Sunday SchoolClass.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Kenneth Herring;brother, Joe Clyde Wilson; sister, Louise Wilson Neal; and twograndchildren.

Survivors are her husband, Robert S. “Bob” Herring ofMonticello; sons, Joe Herring of Baton Rouge, La., and Jeff Herringof Silver Creek; daughters, Sandra Herring Langston of SilverCreek, Robin Herring Shumaker of Monticello and Michelle Corkern ofBrookhaven; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and threegreat-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Shumaker, Josh Langston, Trent Corkern,Shannon Langston, Lee Earls Jr., Cody Earls, Jason Shumaker andRicky Shumaker.

Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
