MONTICELLO – Isha Toney pumped in 18 points and grabbed threerebounds to lead the Lawrence County Lady Cougars to a 48-45 Fridaynight win over the Prentiss Lady Bulldogs.

In the boys game, 6-9 center Al Jefferson poured in 29 points inleading the Bulldogs to a 52-32 win over Lawrence County.

Lawrence County resumes play Friday in the Mendenhall PeoplesBank Showdown. The Cougars play Newton County.

Adding support to the Lawrence County girls win with 13 pointsand eight rebounds was Brittany Peyton. Netting 10 points andpulling down eight rebounds was Stacy Smith.

The Cougars got 11 points from Chris Bridges and 7 rebounds fromEdward Mikell. Erik Stringer made 2 assists and 2 steals.
