Memorial services for Bert Eddie Smith of Brookhaven were 10a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Harrigill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 87, died Dec. 22, 2001, of heart failure at SilverCross Nursing Home. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 15, 1914,to William Henry Smith and Lottie Watts Smith.

He was a self-employed carpenter and worked at the LincolnCounty Livestock Barn. He was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Alma EstelleSmith; his son, Johnny Bert Smith; his daughter-in-law, and twograndchildren.

Survivors are his daughters, Wanda Jean Perry of Brookhaven andPatricia Ann Bates of Memphis; and 11 grandchildren, 16great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
