Services for Delos Noel Travis Sr. of Summit are 2:30 p.m.,Friday, Jan. 4, at Catchings Funeral Home Chapel with burial inJohnston Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. untilservice time at the funeral home.
Mr. Travis, 64, died Jan. 2, 2002, at SMRMC. He was born inSummit on Dec. 13, 1937, to Ed Travis and Beulah JohnsonTravis.
He was a retired barber, having owned and operated Travis’Barber Shop in Baton Rouge from 1968-1971 and was owner/operator of5 Point Barber Shop in McComb for 24 years. He was a 32nd DegreeMason, was a member of the Summit Lodge #231 F&AM, a member ofthe Wahabi Temple of Shriners, and a member of the Scottish Rite ofFreemasonry, S. J., USA, Valley of Jackson, Orient of Mississippi.He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, William,Harvie, and Louis Elmer Travis; and his sister, Luna MaeTravis.
Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Reames Travis ofSummit; his sons, Delos “Noel” Travis Jr. of the West Lincolncommunity and Troy H. Travis of McComb; his brothers, W. A. “Bear”Travis of Summit and Wallace “Pete” Travis of McComb; his sisters,Wilma Thomas of Greenwell Springs, La., Ann Randall of Gloster,Va., and Jeannette Stroud of Houston, Texas; and threegrandchildren.
