Services for Suzanne Montgomery Smith Slaton of Des Allemands,La., are 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Brookhaven Funeral HomeChapel with burial in Matthews Chapel Methodist ChurchCemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Slaton, 54, died Jan. 4, 2002, at West Jefferson Hospitalin New Orleans. She was born in Lincoln County on May 6, 1947, toJames P. Montgomery and Nelva Elise Jordan Montgomery.

She was a nurse.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Bill Slaton of Des Allemands, La.;her son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Kelly Smith of Wesson; herstepson, David Slaton of Jackson; her daughter and son-in-law,Tracey Smith and Tim Edwards of Brookhaven; her stepdaughters,Shannon Flannery of Las Vegas and Kimberly Slaton of Jackson; herbrother, Thomas J. Montgomery of Brookhaven; her sister, CindyBailey of Kenner, La.; her grandchildren, Ainsley Edwards, ShelbyEdwards, Joey Smith, Alexis Flannery and Devin Slaton; and a hostof nieces and nephews.
