Services for O. H. “Harvey” Fennell of Natchez were Thursday,Jan. 3, at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with burial inNatchez City Cemetery.

Mr. Fennell, 85, died Dec. 31, 2001, at Natchez CommunityHospital. He was born in Opelousa, La., on Sept. 17, 1916, toRobert Lee and Otey Lewis Fennell. He was a 1938 graduate of LSUwith a degree in petroleum engineering.

He had a lifelong career in the oil and gas industry, workingfor many years for Chevron in the Natchez-Lake St. John area and inBrookhaven. He was a Navy veteran of WWII.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Belle Quirk Fennell of Natchez; hisdaughter, Sarah Fennell Overby of Natchez; his sons, Otis HarveyFennell Jr. of New Orleans, Robert W. Fennell of Hazlehurst, andJames Murphy Fennell of Petal; his sister, Lil Fennell Chateiain ofHouston, Texas; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
