Services for Mattie Olivia B. Welford of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Friday, Jan. 11, at First United Methodist Church with burial inWaynesboro Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-9 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home inWaynesboro.

Mrs. Welford, 76, died Jan. 8, 2002, at Beverly Health Care. Shewas born on Dec. 24, 1925.

She was a school teacher.

Survivors are her son, George B. Welford of Jacksonville, N.C.;her daughter, Deborah Slaughter of Brookhaven; her brother, WalterBurnett of Waynesboro; her sister, Lou Tucker of Brookhaven; andfour grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church.
