Services for James Lamar Johnston of Soso are 11 a.m., Thursday,Jan. 17, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial inUnion Line Cemetery in Jones County.
Visitation is Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnston, 70, died Jan. 15, 2002, at his residence.
He was retired from Shell Oil Company as a meter technician. Hewas a member of First Baptist Church of Soso. He was a member ofVFW, Alex Box Post; the American Legion, Marvin E. Stainton Post;and was a Mason with the McComb lodge. He was a Navy veteran of theKorean Conflict.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert Edward and ClaraJohnston; and his brother, Bernard Johnston.
Survivors are his wife, Loraine Boyd Johnston of Soso; his sons,Eric Johnston and Gary L. Johnston, both of Laurel, and Douglas W.Johnston of Soso; his brothers, Robert Earl Johnston of DenhamSprings, La., and Carl E. Johnston of Petal; his sister, Hilda Vailof Jackson; and six grandchildren.
