Enterprise too much for Wesson’s teams

WESSON – Senior forward Lacey Palomarez scored 14 points, made12 steals, grabbed five rebounds and had three assists in directingthe Enterprise girls to a 54-19 win over the Wesson Lady CobrasTuesday night.

In varsity boys action, Pierre Harthorne’s 13 points, foursteals and six assists helped Enterprise to a 71-48 victory overWesson.

“Everybody got some playing time,” said Enterprise coach BillyVaughn. “We did pretty well. Defensively, we really picked itup.

Following Palomarez with 12 points was Andrea Harthorne for the12-1 Lacy Jackets. Ashley Harthorne collected six rebounds andthree assists. Daisy Sanders had five rebounds and fourassists.

Enterprise senior reserve Emily Smith collapsed last nightduring the ball game and was taken to King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was released shortly afterwards. Coach Vaughn saidd hethought Smith had dehydrated.

For 2-15 Wesson, Kail Baldwin and Mandie Curtis led with fivepoints apiece.

The Enterprise boys (10-3)placed four other players in double figures. Karry Brown and ChrisPorter netted 12 points apiece. Shermaine Vaughn scored 11 pointsand R.C. Johnson finished with 10 points. Vaughn led off thebackboards with 11 rebounds and blocked two shots. Rufus Allen hadnine points, seven steals and four assists.

Wesson (3-13) was led by senior center Billy Ray Miller’s 16points. Richie Miller fired in 12 points.

Junior Varsity Game

The Wesson boys clipped Enterprise 40-37. Blake Pickettled Wesson with 14 points followed by Wade Williams and Nick Gunterwith seven points apiece.

Enterprise (3-2) got 10 points from Chris Hockett, eightfrom Justin Kyzar and six from Corey Smith.

Enterprise visits Mt. Olive Thursday night for a makeupgame. Wesson visits Loyd Star Friday. Enterprise is at RichlandFriday night.
