KDMC sponsoring ‘New Year’ health fair

Those who made New Year’s resolutions to get in shape anddevelop a healthier lifestyle will have a chance this week to getstarted on the right foot.
King’s Daughters Medical Center will sponsor a free “New Year,New You” health fair in the hospital’s lobbyfrom 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Wednesday, Jan. 30.
“We are hosting this fair to give people a healthful beginningto the new year,” said JoAnna Sproles, director of marketing anddevelopment. “Our hospital is concerned about the health of ourcommunity and this health fair is one way to provide important freeservices for everyone.”
The walk-through fair will offer free health information andscreenings for weight, blood pressure and blood typing, as well asassessments for bone density and breast cancer risk.
Free information will be given about medication safety, postureand body mechanics, blood donation, organ donation, living wills,sports medicine and many other topics.
The health fair will help local residents assess their currenthealth conditions and make decisions on what they shouldimprove.
Sproles hopes that the convenient time will attract of number oflocal residents and encourage them to live a healthierlifestyle.
“The time for the fair is scheduled around lunch time in hopesthat working men and women will come during their lunch break, walkthrough and receive valuable information about their health,” sheadded.
