Services for Verdys Vestell Hughes of Wesson are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Sylvarena Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 5-9 p.m. at StringerFuneral Home in Hazlehurst.

Mrs. Hughes, 81, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at MississippiBaptist Medical Center in Jackson.

She was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church for 48 years andwas active in the Quilting Circle there.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Samuel R. Hughes.

Survivors are her son, Tommie R. Hughes of Hattiesburg;daughter, Lynda Rachelle Hughes of Wesson; sister, Gertrude Hudsonof Jackson; and two grandchildren.
