Services for Katherine “Katie” Strait Giffin of Hazlehurst are 2p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Giffin, 99, died Feb. 9, 2002, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on July 26, 1902, to Leonard SylvesterStrait and Jefferson Sample Strait.

She was a retired educator with Giffin Jr. College in Vanwert,Ohio. She was a member of Brandon Methodist Church in Brandon. Shewas a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, CyrilGuy Giffin.

Survivors are her nephews, William “Billy” Strait of Hazlehurst,Paul Strait of Wesson, and Maxwell Seale of Mobile; and her nieces,May Lou Causey of Gloster, Gladys Johnson of Jackson, PearlHenderson of Natchez, and Gertie Lou Tillotson of Brookhaven.
