Services for Robert Monroe Callender of Hixon, Tenn., are 11a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Brister Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Callender, 89, died Feb. 16, 2002, at Memorial Hospital inChattanooga, Tenn. He was born in Lincoln County on March 4, 1912,to Marion Scott Callender and Annie Olivia Smith Callender.

He was a retired boilermaker and worked out of Local 582, BatonRouge, for many years. He was a member of Stuart Heights BaptistChurch in Chattanooga.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, VersieCallender.

Survivors are his wife, Alyeen Smith Callender of Hixon; hisdaughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Duane Olesvary ofChattanooga; his brothers, Leroy Callender of Bogue Chitto andMarion Callender of Texas; his sisters, Ellen Frascino of Pearland,Texas, Rosa Thomas of Baton Rouge, Lillian Sommerfeld ofCalifornia, Eula Mae Moncrief of Bogue Chitto, and Edna McGee ofBrookhaven; and his grandchildren, Amanda and Monica Olesvary.
