Services for Joseph Brian Smith of Brookhaven are 3 p.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inPleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 45, died Feb. 17, 2002, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital in Hazlehurst. He was born in Baton Rouge on Sept. 20,1956, to Holmes Leon Smith and Louise Morgan Smith.

He was a safety technician for IDC Construction Company. He wasa member of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, H. L.Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Melanie Porter Smith of Wesson; hisgrandmother, Geneva LeBans of French Settlement, La.; hisdaughters, Summer Conn and Krystal Conn, both of Wesson; hissisters, Sherry Smith and Jeanine Duplassus, both of Port Vincent,La.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
