Services for Geneva Smith Cook of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Feb. 23, at Norfield Bethel Baptist Church with burial inPleasant Grove Cemetery in Summit.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. with family hourfrom 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Cook, 75, died Feb. 16, 2002, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. She was born in Smithdale on Dec. 28, 1927, to RichardSmith and Tiny Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Norfield Bethel BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Albert J.Cook Sr.; and two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are her sons, Albert Cook Jr., Samuel Cook, and WillieCook, all of Jackson, and James Louis Cook of Montrose, Mich.; herdaughters, Abigail Lewis of Jackson, Alice F. Cook of Milwaukee,Wis., Ada Young of St. Louis, Mo., Ella Jackson of Englewood, N.J.,Jessie Cook of Lynwood, Calif., Linda Cook of Los Angeles, Calif.,Dorothy Runnels and Jeanette Paxton, both of Memphis, Carolyn Cookof Chicago, Shirley Cook of Orlando, Fla., and Yvonne Cook of BogueChitto; her brothers, Elder Zack Smith of Flint, Mich., WillieSmith of Bogue Chitto, Johnnie Smith of Summit, and Roosevelt Smithof Milwaukee, Wis.; her sisters, Mammie Porter of Bogue Chitto andOra McCoy of Bellevue, Wash.; and 36 grandchildren and 24great-grandchildren.
