Services for Charles Bowens of Monticello are 2 p.m., Saturday,March 2, at Monticello First Baptist Church with burial in OakGrove Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m. at Tyler FuneralHome and Saturday at the church prior to the service.

Mr. Bowens, 75, died Feb. 23, 2002, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Lawrence County on Feb. 27, 1926, to MaryJane Taylor Bowens and Charlie Bowens.

He was a former employee of Lawrence County Hospital. He was amember of Monticello First Baptist Church. He had served in themilitary.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Geneva Sutton Bowens of Monticello; hissons, Charles A. Bowens of Indianapolis, Ind., and Gregory Suttonand Dexter Bowens, both of Monticello; his daughters, AnnetteSutton and Jeanette Sutton, both of Elyria, Ohio; his sisters,Lynell of Jackson and Catherine Dillon of New Orleans; and eightgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
