A Lincoln County man on his way to work in Lawrence County waskilled Friday morning in an accident on East Lincoln Road,authorities said. Scott Johnston, 18, of 2592 Mallalieu Road, washeading to work at the Georgia-Pacific mill when he apparently lostcontrol off his 2001 Chevrolet pickup in a sharp curve and hit atree on the passenger’s side. The accident, which happened inLawrence County, was reported at 6:52 a.m.

Johnston sustained head trauma in the accident and was taken toLawrence County Hospital, where he later died. Other information onthe accident and funeral arrangements was unavailable.
