Bobcats outscore Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO – Home runs by Jacob Leggett and winning pitcherScott Edwards powered the Bogue Chitto Bobcats to a 12-8 Mondayvictory over the Enterprise Yellow Jackets in a Division 7-1Abaseball showdown. Edwards struck out 5 batters and did not issue abase on balls.

Enterprise coach Scott Leggett said he was pleased with histeam’s performance, despite the loss. “We played our best game ofthe year. Our guys came ready to play and we gave Bogue Chitto agood game. I was very pleased and proud of our team.”

Bogue Chitto took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first but theJackets rallied and pulled ahead 7-4 in the third. A 3-run Bobcatrally in the fourth regained the advantage at 9-7.

The Bobcats finished with 17 hits. Lindsey Jackson accounted for3 Bobcat hits. Denard Ferguson doubled for BC. Collecting 2 hitswere Leggett, Cody Wallace, Todd Davis, Daniel Moore, ErnieJohnston,and Brian Wallace.

Enterprise was led by David Russell who singled twice anddoubled. Blake McKee, Monti Crotwell and Scott Sasser each had 2hits. Caleb Smith, Justin Kyzar and Darren Brady singled.

Crotwell was the losing pitcher. He struck out 8 batters andwalked 6.
